Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to felicitate 166 top-performing students at a state-level ceremony on Thursday, June 12, at Lok Bhavan. Each student will receive Rs 1 lakh, a tablet, a medal, and a certificate. Parents of the awardees have also been invited to attend the event. The honored students include toppers from UP Board, CBSE, ICSE, and the Sanskrit Education Council in high school and intermediate exams.
For the first time, students who excelled in the 68th National School Sports Competitions (2024–25) will also be recognised. Among the 363 participants from council schools, Uttar Pradesh secured a total of 179 medals — 51 gold, 46 silver, and 82 bronze — across over 20 sports including athletics, wrestling, swimming, taekwondo, and judo.

A total of 87 gold medalists (73 boys and 14 girls) will receive cash prizes. Individual gold medal winners will be awarded Rs 75,000, while team event winners will get Rs 35,000. Silver medalists will receive Rs 50,000 (individual) and Rs 25,000 (team), and bronze medalists will be awarded Rs 30,000 (individual) and Rs 15,000 (team).
Education Director Dr Mahendra Dev confirmed that the 166 meritorious students include 85 from UP Board, 29 from CBSE, 32 from ICSE, and 20 from the Sanskrit Education Council. During the event, the Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the new building of the Sanskrit Education Council and Directorate, as well as for new Sanskrit schools and hostels in Chakia (Chandauli) and Bhadohi.
Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for new Government Girls Inter College buildings at Malihabad and Jagatnarayan Road in Lucknow. An MoU will also be signed to establish Dream Labs for skill development in government secondary schools.
In parallel, district-level felicitation ceremonies will be held across all 75 districts, where 1,508 meritorious students (758 high school and 750 intermediate) will receive Rs 21,000 each, along with a tablet, medal, and certificate. Local ministers, public representatives, or District Magistrates will present the awards at these events.
