Ahead of the Diwali festival, the Ghaziabad Food Safety Department is actively monitoring food products across the district. On Monday, officials seized 210 kg of paneer and destroyed 110 kg of sweets due to poor quality. Samples from both products have been sent to the laboratory for further testing.
According to District Designated Officer Arvind Yadav, Ramniwas, a resident of Mathura, had brought 240 kg of paneer, valued at Rs 69,120, to sell near the vegetable market in a pickup vehicle.
Upon inspection, the paneer was found to be of substandard quality and was subsequently destroyed near Harnandi Moksha Sthal, with samples collected for testing.
In addition, 110 kg of low-quality sweets, worth Rs 44,000, were destroyed at Agarwal Sweet in Karkad Model.

Under the ongoing Diwali food safety campaign, a total of 89 samples of food items have been collected across the district for laboratory testing. Authorities have stated that further action will be taken based on the test results.
