A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad allegedly killed his wife with a sword on Tuesday. The incident took place at Bhojpur police station when his wife was reportedly late in preparing tea for him in the morning. After hearing the woman’s scream, her children rushed towards her where the man attacked them too.
The accused, identified as Dhramveer, worked as a vegetable seller and is a native of Meerut’s Kalanjari village. He was living with his wife and six children in Ghaziabad for the last 20 years.
On Tuesday morning, the victim, Sundari (50) was sitting near the stove on the terrace to prepare tea. The accused came there and started asking for tea following which an argument broke out between the two due to a delay in preparing the tea.
Enraged over the incident, the accused unleashed the sword lying nearby him and attacked his wife’s neck. When the children reached the spot after hearing the screams, the accused attacked them too. Sundari died on the spot due to excessive bleeding while her children were found unharmed by the police.
After the information about the incident was received, police reached the spot to investigate the incident. Police arrested the accused and recovered the sword through which the incident took place. They also sent the body of the deceased for the postmortem examination and stated that further probe is underway.
