To speed up the development of the Ecotech 16 Sector, the Greater Noida Authority will acquire land under the Land Acquisition Act. Acting on the authority’s proposal, the district administration has issued a notification for a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) survey to acquire 9.66 hectares of land across three villages, Dhoommanikpur, Sunpura and Khedi.
Gautam Buddha University has been appointed as the agency to conduct the survey and will have 60 days to complete the process and submit its report. The administration will proceed with the land acquisition based on the findings.
Officials said the authority has already begun allocating plots in the sector. A 50-acre parcel has been allotted to Avada Electro Pvt Ltd to set up a solar manufacturing unit, bringing an investment of around Rs 3,000 crore. Infrastructure work in the sector, including a 220 kV power substation, sewer lines, drains, roads, and other utilities, is also underway.
Most of the required land has been acquired with farmers’ consent. However, resistance from some landowners in Sunpura, Khedi, and Dhoommanikpur had delayed full-scale development. To resolve the issue, the authority approached the district administration for land acquisition under the Act.
According to the notification, 3.015 hectares in Dhoommanikpur, 2.49 hectares in Sunpura, and 4.15 hectares in Khedi will be acquired to complete the sector’s development.
