Amid the wedding season, the number of passengers arriving in and departing from Lucknow has increased, with the impact to be visible on both trains and flights. On one hand, confirmed tickets are not available on the corporate sector train, Tejas Express, for the duration of the wedding season, while on the other hand, the second seating class of the Gomti Express is also on a waiting list.
In trains like the Kashi Vishwanath Express and Kaifiyat Express, the long waiting list has led to a 'Regret' status. Fares to several cities, including Delhi and Mumbai, have also suddenly increased.

Passengers are travelling to Lucknow from several cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, and Patna, to attend weddings. Similarly, these passengers are also returning from Lucknow after the events conclude.
In this winter season, more than 300 seats used to remain vacant on the Tejas Express to New Delhi. Due to the wedding season, the chair car class of the Tejas Express is on a waiting list for all days except November 28. The situation is the same for the Lucknow-New Delhi Shatabdi Express. T
The non-AC second seating class of the Gomti Express is on a waiting list for the next several days. Seats are not available in the AC Chair Car and AC 2 Tier. Between November 25 and 29, these trains either have a long waiting list or are in 'Regret' status.
In all important trains, including the VIP trains Lucknow Mail and AC Express, confirmed tickets are only available through the Tatkal quota. The pressure has also increased on Intercity Express trains heading towards several cities in the state, including Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Meerut, for people attending weddings.

There is a scramble for seats in the general coaches of these Intercity trains, with passengers continuously lodging complaints about this on the railway's social media platform, X.
