Noida International Airport, Jewar, is nearing completion, with advanced runway facilities promising seamless aircraft operations even in adverse weather conditions. Equipped with CAT-III B Instrument Landing System (ILS), the airport’s runway is set to enable flight operations in extremely low visibility of up to 50 metres during dense fog or heavy rain, significantly reducing delays and cancellations.
According to the officials, a request has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office to inaugurate the airport by the end of October. The first phase, spread across 1,339 hectares in six villages of Jewar, is being developed at Rs 30,000 crore with modern technology sourced from India and abroad.

The airport’s 3,900-metre-long and 60-metre-wide runway, the largest in Uttar Pradesh, will allow smooth landing of large aircraft, including the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787. A Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) light system has also been installed to ensure safe landings.
With its launch, Uttar Pradesh will become the first state in India to have five international airports, alongside Lucknow, Varanasi, Kushinagar, and Ayodhya.

- Noida International Airport, Jewar- 3900 m, 60 m
- Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow- 2744 m, 60 m
- Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi- 2745 m, 60 m
- Kushinagar International Airport- 3200 m, 45 m
- Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport, Ayodhya- 2200 m, 45 m

In the first phase, the airport will accommodate 28 aircraft on its apron and provide 10 aerobridges for simultaneous boarding. At full capacity after the fourth phase, parking will be available for 186 aircraft.
Currently, only six airports in India, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Jaipur, Amritsar, and Lucknow, are equipped with CAT-III B capability. Noida Airport will be the seventh to join this elite list.
