Five people were injured after a dispute between two groups escalated in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida on Friday. The conflict which occurred in Ranhera village under the Jewar police station area, reportedly stemmed from differences over the displacement location in the second phase of the Jewar International Airport project. 

One faction supported relocation to Mandalpur, while the other, known as the Falaida party, advocated for shifting to Falaida. Following a heated argument, the disagreement turned violent, with both sides engaging in stone pelting and gunfire.

Dharamveer Singh sustained two bullet wounds on his right leg and was critically injured. Brijpal and Girish, who attempted to intervene, were also hurt. Meanwhile, Manoj Singh, Vipin and Kalu from the opposing group suffered injuries during the clash.

All the injured were taken to Kailash and Arogya hospitals in Jewar. Due to the severity of his injuries, Dharamveer Singh was later referred to Noida for surgery.

Upon receiving information, the police reached the village and brought the situation under control. Heavy police deployment has been made to maintain peace in the area. Officials stated that no formal complaint has been filed yet, but action will be taken against those involved in the violence.
