A woman’s body, headless and naked with severed palms, was found floating in a drain in Sector 108 on Thursday morning. The identity of the woman could not be immediately determined.

According to an NDTV report, police suspect that the woman was murdered and dismembered elsewhere before her decapitated body was dumped in Sector 108. Upon receiving the information, a police team rushed to the scene and sent the body to the hospital for an autopsy, officers from Sector 39 Police Station said.

"Today on 06.11.2025, information was received about the body of an unidentified woman being found in a drain near Sector-82 Noida cut. Acting immediately on the information received, the local police reached the spot and the body was taken out of the drain," police said, according to the NDTV report. It added that efforts are underway to identify the woman. "Other legal action is also being taken," it said.

A team has been formed to investigate the case, and police said that nearby CCTV footage will also be examined for any leads.

In a separate incident, Two brothers died on Monday after inhaling toxic gas from a septic tank at their home in Chotpur Colony, Sector 63, Gautam Buddh Nagar. A neighbour who tried to help them also fell ill due to the fumes and has been hospitalized.

According to a PTI report quoting an official, Chandrabhan (40) fell into the septic tank after its stone slab collapsed, and his brother Raju (26) jumped in to save him. Both lost consciousness inside the tank. When neighbour Hemant Singh attempted to rescue them, he was also affected by the poisonous gas and is currently receiving treatment.
