Noida International Airport: Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 30. The airport is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, featuring modern jet bridges, extensive use of solar power, and improved connectivity for travellers.

Once operational, the Noida International Airport will be India’s largest airport. The first phase of the Noida International Airport is nearing completion, with one runway and a passenger terminal capable of handling up to 12 million passengers annually. The construction of the airport began in 2019 and is being carried out in four phases.

Key Highlights Of Noida International Airport

- Runway and Passenger Capacity: The Noida International Airport will boast a 3.9 km runway designed to accommodate 12 million passengers equally, Times Now reported.

- Solar Power and Resilient Infrastructure: The airport will be powered by solar energy and built with waterlogging-resistant infrastructure to ensure smoother and uninterrupted access and operations, even during adverse weather conditions.

- Jet Bridges: Once operational, the Noida International Airport will feature 10 fully operational jet bridges, allowing passengers to board aircraft directly from the terminal building, eliminating the need for buses and stairs. In addition, three temporary aerobridges will be deployed whenever needed.

- Fire Safety Systems: An advanced Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) tower with a 180-degree monitoring system will enhance fire safety.

- Faster Baggage Screening with ATRS: The Noida International Airport will deploy advanced Automatic Tray Retrieval System (ATRS) baggage screening machines to ensure efficiency and passenger comfort.

Details About Noida International Airport

- Noida International Airport is set to become India’s largest airport, complementing Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

- The airport is being developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, in collaboration between the Uttar Pradesh government and Zurich Airport’s subsidiary.

- The airport is scheduled for inauguration on October 30, with full operation expected to begin within 45 days of inauguration.

- According to Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, the Noida International Airport will connect at least 10 cities, including major cities, in the first phase.
