A 21-year-old first-year MBBS student, Gopesh Krishna, died by suicide on Saturday at Subharti Medical College. His body was found hanging in room number 122 of the Dr Kotnis Men's Hostel.
Discovery of the Body Gopesh’s roommates, Aryan and Rajiv, had left for class earlier in the day, leaving him in the room. When they returned at 1 pm, they found the door locked from the inside. receiving no response despite knocking for a long time, they alerted the hostel warden, Naresh Kumar. Upon breaking down the door, they discovered Gopesh's body hanging from a rope.
The police from the Subharti outpost arrived at the scene shortly after. Gopesh's family was informed, and after their arrival, the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
Suicide Note And Medical Struggles
Police recovered a two-page suicide note from the room. In the note, Gopesh wrote, "Not feeling good in this body. That is why I am taking my life." He also provided the passwords for his mobile phone and laptop.
It was revealed that Gopesh had been suffering from a skin disease for a long time and had previously received treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi.

Student Background
Gopesh, originally a resident of Raya town in Mathura, had enrolled in the MBBS course this year and had arrived at the college on November 20. He was the third of four siblings.
Father: Udal Singh, a Reserve Inspector in the Muzaffarnagar Police Lines. The family currently resides in Muzaffarnagar and also owns a house in the Defence Compound on Sangam City Road, Aligarh.
Siblings: His elder sister is married to Arun Chaudhary, a Sub-Inspector stationed at Masuri police station in Ghaziabad. His second sister is currently studying, and his younger brother is an under-19 cricket player.

Police Investigation
SSP Dr Vipin Tada stated that the matter is being investigated thoroughly. Authorities are examining the student's mobile phone and laptop to understand why the skin disease caused him such sudden and severe distress.
