After a six-year struggle, 3,874 families at SupertechCapetown society in Sector 74 have finally received a Ganga water supply. Although residents had their homes, they were still awaiting property registration and a proper water connection.

The society houses a total of 4,419 families. Previously, only 535 families had a water connection, which the builder had arranged. The remaining 3,874 families were dependent on groundwater. The Authority had refused to provide further connections because the builder owed Rs 23.49 crore. The project is also undergoing insolvency proceedings.

The residents' efforts for a solution included serving a notice to the Authority in 2019. In 2021, a Recovery Certificate (RC) was issued against the builder. Residents demanded that the connection charges be recovered from the builder along with land dues, and the Authority agreed to this.

In 2024, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) ordered the Authority to make proper arrangements for water and electricity and to resolve the registration issue. Following the NCLAT order, the Authority has provided a 300 mm water connection, and the supply has now commenced. The Authority has also filed a claim with the NCLT for the water connection amount along with the outstanding dues.
