UP DA Hike: Uttar Pradesh state government employees are set to receive a two percent increase in their dearness allowance (DA) soon. The order to implement this increase is expected to be issued along with the April salary, which employees will receive in May. With this increase, the DA will rise from the current rate of 53 percent to 55 percent.
It’s important to note that the state government follows the central government’s lead in adjusting DA rates. Recently, the Central Government announced a two percent hike in DA for its employees, and the UP Government will implement a similar increase for its employees after the Central Government's decision.
Preparations are already underway to propose the DA increase for state employees, and the proposal will soon be presented to the Chief Minister. If approved, the increase will benefit approximately 16 lakh state employees.
The two percent increase in dearness relief (DR) will also be given to approximately 12 lakh pensioners. Employees will begin receiving the enhanced dearness allowance from January. To compensate for the arrears from previous months, the government will disburse the payments through the employees' provident fund accounts and national savings certificates.
