The Noida Authority issued a letter to all tehsil and Registry departments in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr districts, stopping them from buying and selling land in 84 villages of Dadri, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr which have been earmarked the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR), also known as ‘New Noida’. The letter also seeks a list of registries in which land has been purchased by forming a company or firm.
The move comes as the authority begins its work for developing the New Noida area, which will cover nearly 21,000 hectares (203 square kilometres) of land across 80 villages of Gautam Buddha Nagar and 60 villages of Bulandshahr.
The project, which has been designed by the Noida Authority and School of Planning and Architecture, aims to create a new industrial, residential and recreational hub with a projected population of six lakh residents.
The Uttar Pradesh government halted the sale and purchase of the land to curb the illegal encroachments and constructions that are taking place in the New Noida area, where hundreds of colonies and more than 50 warehouses have been built without permission. The authority has also sent a letter to auction the land on sale across all the tehsils of the three districts.
The letter further states that if the land is being purchased for agricultural use, then the Noida Authority must be informed and the land must not be registered without its consent. The district administration has pasted a copy of the letter in all tehsils to inform the public.

The authority has also warned the people against falling prey to the fraudsters who are building illegal colonies in large numbers across Noida, Greater Noida, Greater Noida West, New Noida area, Yamuna Expressway and Greater Noida Phase-2 by cheating the common man. The authority has advised the people to verify the legal status of the land before buying or selling it.
