A woman died by suicide in Jhansi because she was unable to keep the Navratri fast due to her periods. The 36-year-old Priyansha Soni lived with her husband, Mukesh Soni, in the Panna Lal Gola Kuan neighbourhood, which was governed by the Jhansi district's city police station.

The couple had two small children, Janvi (three and a half years old) and Manvi (two and a half years old).

According to Mukesh, Priyansha was very excited about the Navratri celebration and was actively preparing for it, with Mukesh helping her.

However, on the first day of Navratri, Priyansha had her periods, that prohibited her from keeping the fast or worshiping the Goddess, which made her very upset. Despite Mukesh's efforts to console her, she remained disturbed.

The next day, when Mukesh was in the shop, Priyansha consumed poison. When her condition was discovered, she was promptly transferred to Jhansi Medical College, where she began to improve after therapy.
