Several districts of Uttar Pradesh have been dealing with dense fog and cold waves in the last few days. Though the temperature increased on Thursday during the day hours, the temperature further dipped in the night. Several of the districts also experienced dense fog in the late hours of the day. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that the state is expected to experience light rain in the upcoming days, leading to a further dip in temperature.
The weather department informed that the minimum and maximum temperatures in Lucknow on Thursday were 20.2 degrees Celsius and 6.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. It further stated that though the maximum temperature on Friday is expected to remain around 20 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to be 9 degrees Celsius. The IMD also stated that most of the districts are expected to experience dense fog in the upcoming days.
The weather department stated that several districts, including Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Rampur, and Bareilly, are expected to experience dense fog on Friday and Saturday. The IMD also stated that several of these districts are also expected to receive light rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
The minimum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 4.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Apart from this, the minimum temperature in Sonbhadra and Bulandshahr was recorded at 4.8 and 5 degrees Celsius, respectively. The weather department has also stated that Agra will experience dense fog on Friday. The IMD advised people of these areas to be extra cautious due to the cold wave.
Besides, the weather department informed that several states, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan, are expected to experience rainfall on Saturday. The western areas of Punjab and several regions of Rajasthan are also expected to experience a dip in temperature.
