Uttar Pradesh News: What was supposed to be the beginning of a happy married life turned into grief in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat when the groom was crushed to death by a speeding truck moments before his wedding. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Binauli police station area.
According to the police, a case will be registered, and strict action will be taken based on the investigation and the family’s complaint.
What Happened Moments Before The Wedding?
The incident took place in the Binauli police station. The groom, Subodh Kumar, a resident of Pichokra village, has arrived with his ‘barat’ at Saroorpur Kalan village on Sunday night. The barat had briefly stopped at the Panchayat house for dinner and refreshments when the tragedy occurred.
According to relatives, Subodh Kumar stepped out of his vehicle to vomit on the roadside after feeling nauseous. At the same time, a speeding, uncontrolled truck approached from the opposite direction and crushed him to death, NDTV reported. Eyewitnesses stated that the speeding vehicle dragged Subodh for several metres before fleeing the scene.

He was immediately rushed to a private hospital for medical treatment. He was later referred to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, the report added.
Following the incident, officials from the Binauli police station arrived at the scene and sent the groom’s body for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are now examining the CCTV footage from the highway and nearby areas to trace the truck driver. Police further stated that a case will be registered, and legal action will be taken based on the evidence and the family's official complaint.
