Lakhs of devotees from across the country are expected to gather at Vrindavan’s major temples, including the Banke Bihari temple, on April 30 to mark the Akshaya Tritiya festival. Anticipating heavy crowds, the police administration has divided Vrindavan into four zones and eight sectors to ensure smooth traffic management and tight security.

Vrindavan Traffic Advisory

Following instructions from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), the entry of vehicles from outside Vrindavan will be completely prohibited from the morning of April 29 until the night of April 30. Only local residents will be allowed entry upon showing their Aadhaar cards. To enforce this, barriers have been installed at 80 key locations across the city, with police forces deployed at strategic points starting from the morning of April 29.

Devotees arriving in Vrindavan will need to park their vehicles at designated permanent and temporary parking lots located at the city’s entry points. From there, e-rickshaws and golf carts will ferry visitors to the temple areas. The arrangements aim to minimise congestion and ensure a smooth movement of pilgrims during the festival.

CO Sadar Sandeep Kumar stated that each of the four zones will be supervised by an officer of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) rank, while each sector will be managed by a Circle Officer. To strengthen security and manage traffic flow, additional police forces have also been arriving from neighbouring districts.

To manage the security and traffic arrangements during the Akshaya Tritiya festival, the police administration will deploy extensive personnel and resources. The deployment will include 4 Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP), 8 Circle Officers, 42 Inspectors, 180 Sub-Inspectors, 850 Constables, 50 Female Sub-Inspectors, and 110 Female Constables.
