YEIDA News: To prepare the land for industrial usage surrounding Noida airport, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) said on Tuesday that it had finalised rates to buy agricultural land from farmers in 55 villages in Bulandshahr for the development of new urban districts.
A committee led by Shailendra Bhatia was established by YEIDA five months ago, and on Tuesday, the committee presented its findings to Arun Vir Singh, the CEO of the authority.
This allowed them to finalise the property rates and start the land acquisition process as soon as possible, according to authorities.
“We will put the committee’s recommendations on the board so that we can offer better rates to them and buy the land required for the infrastructure and industrial development in this region. The committee has fixed the rates in view of the rates offered by neighbouring Gautam Budh Nagar district. And since we’ve notified these 55 villages of Bulandshahr for the planned district, we decided to offer a better rate. Once the board gives its official nod, the authority will start buying the land from farmers,” the CEO said.

The Yeida officer on special duty Bhatia-led committee, which also included additional chief executive officer Kapil Singh and other officials, stated that a farmer would receive Rs 3,800 per square metre (sqm) if he planned to purchase a residential plot (seven percent of the total land acquired); if he chose not to, the rate would be Rs 4,300 per sqm.
After farmers requested this rate, the administration agreed to provide it, citing the fact that farmers in the nearby Gautam Budh Nagar district receive Rs 4,300 per square metre since they are donating land for infrastructure projects like the airport.
