Responding to concerns over the integrity of the graduate-level competitive examination conducted on September 21, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has issued a clarification on its security measures.
According to Secretary Dr Shiv Kumar Barnwal, jammers based on 5G technology with a range of 10-15 metres were installed at all 445 examination centres across the state to ensure a cheating-free environment. He clarified that while jammers were not placed in every classroom, their coverage extended across the entire centres.

The commission confirmed that an incident of suspected breach of confidentiality at an examination centre in Haridwar is under investigation, but asserted that the jammers there were fully functional.
To maintain strict confidentiality, the process from printing to distribution of question papers was conducted under district administration supervision. Confidential material was secured in district treasuries under double lock and transported to centres on exam day by Sector Magistrates under police custody.
Each examination centre was equipped with two CCTV cameras. Pre-installed high-resolution cameras were turned off during the exam to prevent misuse. The original OMR sheets were sealed at the centres under CCTV surveillance and sent to the commission, while carbon copies were stored safely in treasuries.
Dr Barnwal urged candidates not to be misled by rumours, assuring that the commission has followed a fair and secure process.
