Rare Diseases And Disorders In Humans: There was once a time when common diseases like cold and cough also led to casualties. However, since that time, humanity and medical science have achieved great feats. Patients these days do carry a hope of being saved no matter how advanced a disease is. But amid all the advancements, did you know that there still exist a few disorders and conditions that are way too rare to even get heard of? Maple Syrup Urine Disease

The disease, as the name suggests, is related to urine, and mostly affects kids. It is a type of metabolic disorder, which is also known as MSUD. The disease causes urine to have a sweet smell, which is often also compared with maple syrup.

Alien Hand Syndrome

Coming to the second rare disease, we have Alien Hand Syndrome. It is also known as AHS, and is reportedly often caused by ‘brain surgery, strokes, or neurodegenerative diseases’. In this disease, a patient's arm moves ‘involuntarily’.

Fish Odor Syndrome

On the third spot, we have the Fish Odor Syndrome. It is also known as the FOS and works exactly how it sounds. The metabolic disorder reportedly causes a person’s ‘sweat, breath, and urine’ to smell fish-like.

Stone Man Syndrome

Coming to the fourth, we have the Stone Man Syndrome. It is also known as fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. This disease causes a person’s ‘muscles, tendons, and ligaments’ to become solid like a skeleton.

Kuru

Next on the list is bound to shock you- Kuru, also known as the Laughing Death. In this disease, a person can die from uncontrollable laughter. Its patients can also face tremors and loss of coordination.

Water Allergy

The next on the list might be the most rare and surely uncomfortable for the patients. Known as aquagenic urticaria, is basically a water allergy, where the patient can develop hives after coming in contact with water.

Pica

The last on the list is Pica. In this disease, the patient can eat non-foods like dirt and more. The disease is basically a perplexing eating disorder.
