Black Friday 2023: With just one month left for the much-awaited festival of Christmas, all everyone can talk about is Christmas preparations and shopping. Although the over-enthusiastic ones began their preps way before in October, after Halloween, for the sane ones, the preparation will begin now. With November 24 marking the official ‘Black Friday’ this year, the trend is off the charts today, for all the obvious reasons. While, on the one hand, retailers are all set for today’s chaos that unfolds every year due to out-of-control shoppers, the internet, on the other hand, is witnessing a flood of reactions and memes on the same.
Taking to social media, people began to share jokes and memes on the day. Most people joked about the over-the-top preparations that shoppers often do in order to do shopping on a Black Friday, while others suggested some items that should be part of the day. Many also pointed out that the craze over Black Friday has decreased with time, whereas some others expressed their excitement over the Black Friday shopping.

“Black Friday shopping has definitely changed in recent years. This is the current situation outside major retailers in Houston, TX. Almost 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, no lines, no crowds,” said a third person.

The trend began back in the 1960s and 70s when the name ‘Black Friday’ was reportedly coined by the drivers and police in Philadelphia, as people used to create next-level chaos over their Thanksgiving shopping.
