Viral Video: Diwali is just around the corner, and apart from almost every single home in India, many offices and professional setups are also celebrating the festival in their own ways. Social media is full of Diwali parties and events that were or are being organised in several companies, as employees are sharing a glimpse of the same from all around the country. Doing something similar, this EY Gurgaon employee also shared a video of her office’s Diwali celebration, however, the clip seemingly backfired real hard. The video mostly reminded people of the sad passing away of 26-year-old CA Anna Sebastian Perayil, who was working with EY Pune. For those unaware, the young CA reportedly died due to ‘work pressure’.
As the clip went viral, it drew major backlash. The clip mostly reminded people of the sad demise of Perayil and pointed out how no one from her office reportedly attended her last rites, while the rest cherished the company for already overcoming the loss of an employee’s death.
The EY Gurgaon video was shared on Instagram, by the handle ‘CA Sneha Chanchlani’. The post was captioned, “Diwali Celebration at EY Gurgaon.” The video was shared four days ago and pulled more than 20K likes from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Ye voh hi crowd hai? Jo apne co-worker ke last ritual me nhi gye (Is this the same crowd that did not attend the last ritual of their own coworker),” a user said. “It’s not EY, it’s a suicide point. And how fast people forgot everything says a lot about the employees as well,” added another.
“Ask them to take care of their employees by giving them a positive environment, so that they don’t get died at such a young age! This show-off will hardly work,” added a third person. “No offence and hard feelings to these guys but after this video all I can say is don’t take your job seriously even after you die people of your own company will get over it in a few days,” commented another.
