Maggot In Biryani: If people were to make a list of countries that pretty much ‘preach’ the popular non-vegetarian dish ‘Biryani’, India would have surely been in the top three. Judging by how desis react to this mouth-watering dish, Biryani is no less than an emotion that foodies consider bliss. With the aim to enjoy the same ‘bliss’, a man in Hyderabad ordered Biryani, only to find a nightmare-ish ‘ingredient’ in it; a maggot.
Taking to social media, the man was quick to share pictures of the chicken piece, in which the maggot was visibly stuck. As per the post, the incident took place in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally, where the man allegedly ordered the Biryani from the restaurant Mehfil Biryani.
For those unaware, Mehfil Biryani is a restaurant. As soon as the pictures of the maggot in the dish began to circulate online, people started bashing the food chain.
Rushing into action, the man tried to file a complaint with the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), only to face several struggles. “@fssaiindia couldn’t file a complaint on your website. Even after adding all the details, It’s asking me to fill in the required details,” the man commented on the matter.
The post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Karlmarx__07’. The post read, “Mehfil biryani, Kukatpally. Bugs in chicken pieces @cfs_telangana. This is the response from @Swiggy (Refund of 64rs for a bill of 318rs: Order id - 178009783111586). Please stop ordering from Mehfil kukatpally.” The post was shared yesterday and pulled 640K views from people.

Swiggy, on the other hand, through which the man ordered the dish, allegedly gave a refund of just Rs 64, whereas the order was worth Rs 318. However, after a while, the man updated about getting a full refund from Swiggy. “Prasad from @Swiggy called me and initiated full amount refund and gave me FSSAI details to file a complaint,” his comment read.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Chicken order cheste mixed platter vachindi enjoy,” a user joked. “Same issue I have ordered a Paneer Biryani in Mehfil, Nizampet Kukatpally I got a bone in it,” added a second person. “I used to devour mehfils biryani (Near JNTU) and I used to eat this almost every day during my stay in Hyderabad. I didn't know they would do this,” commented a third person.
“File a case on them,” suggested a fourth person. “That Shop should be closed permanently,” added a fifth user. “Look at the arrogance of @Swiggy, instead of acting on this, they are giving 64 bucks as a 'token',” added another. “
“Bro, this is not only a problem with mehfil biryani. The carelessness in food is everywhere in India. Better stop eating or reduce eating outside. These people only care for money. They don't care for people's health and well-being,” added another.
