ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 Moon landing: Ever since India successfully landed on the Moon on August 23, the whole internet witnessed a massive celebration by the netizens. Joining the bandwagon, Google Doodle also celebrated the major feat and shared an adorable doodle on Chandrayaan-3. Sharing the doodle, Google titled it, “Celebrating the first landing on the moon’s south pole!”

Yesterday, India marked history after ISRO successfully soft-landed on the South Pole of the Moon at 6:04 PM. The country has become the first and the sole to reach the South Pole of the Earth’s natural satellite.

In the doodle, the second ‘O’ in Google was shown as the Moon. The Moon was then approached by ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 and landed on it. The Moon at first, gave a confused reaction, but afterwards expressed joy over the landing. The doodle then showed the Earth taking over, where India’s map had a bright smile as the country celebrated the historic feat. The doodle won many hearts and looked adorable.

The description of the doodle also stressed the difficulties that are mostly faced during a soft landing on the Moon. “Moon landings are no easy feat. Previously, only the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union have completed soft landings on the moon — but no country has made it to the southern pole region before now,” the description read.

India has also become the fourth nation to successfully soft land on the Moon after the US, Russia, and China. The mission took off on July 14 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, the country made another record as ISRO’s live streaming of the Moon landing became the most viewed live stream on YouTube with 8.06M views.
