Lucknow Viral Video: It’s important for police officers to act against miscreants and other criminals, as that is exactly what their duty is, after all. However, the way a matter is handled by the police surely plays a huge role in how the public perceives the cops who are simply doing their duty. An incident that would have been a simple act of the cops doing their duty, turned into rather a debating point on the internet after netizens found cops mishandling the matter with violence. A video was shared online, where a police officer stopped two bike riders. An argument soon broke out between the riders and the cops, which took a violent turn after one of the cops ended up slapping the rider. What happened next only escalated the matter as the man slapped both the cops back.

The incident was captured on the CCTV camera that was installed nearby, which was shared on the internet. As the clip went viral, most netizens sided with the man and blamed the cop for triggering the violence and mishandling the case. The incident took place in Lucknow, but the date could not be confirmed.

After the clip went viral, the Lucknow Police also responded to the matter. As per the police, the man was drunk and was misbehaving, which led the cop to slap him. The man was reportedly arrested and is being investigated.

The video, after getting viral, pulled all kinds of reactions. Most people blamed the cop for starting the issue, while the rest accused the cops of filing a false ‘drunken’ case against the man. A few sided with the police.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘AnujShu14584793’. The post was captioned, “Bike rider clashes with police personnel in Lucknow. The policeman stopped the bike rider and slapped him. The young man also slapped the policeman in return. The viral video is said to be 2 days old. The viral video is from Lucknow's BBD police station area.” The video was shared two days ago and pulled more than 7K views from people.

“Sub-inspector of BBD police station area went to village Salarganj for investigation of IGRS. During the conversation, a person under the influence of alcohol started behaving indecently, and when stopped, he started misbehaving. Due to this, preventive action has been taken against the said person and he has been sent to jail, further legal action is being taken,” read the comment by the Lucknow Police.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “It is policemen like these who turn a simple man into a criminal, it is policemen like these who teach people to hate people in uniform action will be taken against these two policemen except for reporting to the line..!! @lkopolice @Uppolice,” a user said.

“Any police deserves this kind of behaviour from time to time with the kind of institution they are,” added a second person. “The job of the police is to investigate, issue a challan, and present the person in the court @lkopolice Officers are clearly seen scuffling first. Have you been ordered by the court to take him along? I am sure by now the boy would have been beaten up in a one-sided action. Suspend your subordinates too,” added a third person.
