Pakistan vs Afghanistan: A playground is more than a competitive game between teams. It's also about memorable moments and emotions that linger longer than usual among fans and often end up meaning more than the result. With that said, the entire cricket community and its fans are witnessing something similar in almost every match at the World Cup 2023. From ace Indian cricketer Viral Kohli bowling after what seems an eternity, to even the Umpires rooting for cricketers to score centuries, the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup so far, has turned up to be more than just a tournament. Something similar happened during the Pakistan vs Afghanistan match today, October 23, in Chennai. Apart from his gameplay, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam also made headlines for a wholesome gesture during the match. Azam, out of respect for one of the senior players in the field and the tournament, refused senior player Mohammad Nabi to touch his feet, as the Pakistani player struggled to tie his open shoelace. Despite Nabi going down, Azam remained adamant over his stance and ended up winning millions of hearts. As soon as the video of the said moment surfaced online, people started reacting to it and hailed Azam over the gesture.

This is the 13th edition of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, which is being hosted in India, with 48 matches scheduled for the tournament. Meanwhile, Pakistan is playing its fifth match in this year’s World Cup. The game is against Afghanistan, which is being held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India, so far, has played 5 matches in the tournament and is scheduled to play its next game against England on October 29 in Lucknow’s Ekana Sports City.
