Thane Viral Video: The Mumbai Local Train, which is highly infamous for its jam-packed commute, reached its peak yesterday, May 13, when a stampede situation erupted at the Thane Railway Station. The deadly situation was largely triggered due to the number of train delays that were caused by the storm that hit the city yesterday. A video of many women passengers trying to board the already packed train was shared online, which went viral almost instantly and left the city and the internet alarmed. The clip also raised several questions about the authorities and their lack of management.

The Mumbai storm, on the other hand, crippled the city severely, as countless traffic jams and train delays were caused due to it.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘MehHarshil’.

The video has been circulating on social media ever since it was shared. Most people blamed the passengers for their ‘uncivilised’ way of boarding the train, while the rest questioned the authorities over the ‘lack’ of a better ‘train system and planning’.

The video was shared today and pulled more than 1K views from people. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take.

“For how many decades has the decay of Mumbai been diverted as the city’s ’spirit’ and ‘soul’? Despicable,” a user said. “It's not the rush. it's the ‘uncivilised’ approach that creates this kind of mishaps regularly,” added another. “And then people proudly say #SpiritofMumbai. Bc what is this.. this is spirit..?? A normal person would love to live in any tier2 city rather than living like this here,” wrote the next.

“So sad! No woman should ever face this situation,” commented a fourth user. “Why does everyone blame the local train I don’t understand. Why don’t you see unplanned urban development? Everyone has to travel to Mumbai Thane from Karjat Titwala. Still Mumbai local trading there best. People don’t have any other alternative to travel workplace,” added a fifth user.
