An engagement ring is one of the most important things for a couple. It takes a lot before choosing the design for the ring which acts as a stamp of love and will rest on the couple's hands for the rest of their lives. A couple in the US, however, got saved from the task of choosing after they found a pearl inside the meal they were having at a restaurant.

Sandra “Sandy” Sikorski and Ken Steinkamp, the lucky couple, were dining at the Bridge Restaurant and Raw Bar in downtown Westerly, Rhode Island. The duo ordered a plate of clams, which gave them more than just a satisfied belly as they found a Mercenaria 9.5mm oval 'pearl' inside one of the clams. Admiring the rare find and its beauty, the couple decided to turn the pearl into their engagement ring.

Taking to their Instagram handle, the restaurant shared pictures of the ring and the pearl that was found inside the clam. The post was captioned, "We visited Bridge in December and enjoyed some fresh quahogs. In the last one I found this mercinaria 9.5mm oval "pearl" - very rare! we had Black Orchid Jewelers make it into an engagement ring for us!" Thank you to Sandy B. for sharing this delightful story, and congratulations!"


As soon as the story surfaced online, the netizens loved the fairy-tale-like plot and flooded the comment box with adorable comments on the story. Many even congratulated the couple on their engagement.
