Being playful is one of the most common traits that is displayed by cats, and countless posts and videos on the internet are proof of the same. These furry felines can play with almost anything, but tiny creatures like mice and birds mostly top the charts. But a recent video of some cats indulging in a showdown with snakes, which surfaced on social media, left the netizens divided. The video was a compilation of separate incidents where from adult cats to kittens, the felines were seen attacking and playing with snakes. The video split the netizens as some were impressed while others were left concerned.

The video was shared on social media site X (formerly Twitter) by user ‘Eugenia Dinu'. The post's caption was written in Spanish which roughly translated to, "The cat's reflexes are impressive."

The video began with a showdown between a cat and a snake. The feline was seen sitting in a box, while the snake was trying to attack it. After some intense hissing and attacks, the snake eventually left, leaving the cat unharmed. The video then showed another incident where a kitten was trying to attack a tiny snake. The fight grew intense and ended with the cat jumping multiple times to beat the snake as it tried to coil around the cat. The video then processed to another incident where a tiny snake was trying to run away from a kitten, but the kitten surely had different plans. The kitten kept on attacking the snake as if it was not done playing with the reptile.

The video went viral as people, especially cat lovers, were left impressed. While most lauded the reflexes displayed by the cats in the video, some others expressed their concerns for the cats and said that they would have defended their pets in such situations. The video has garnered 5M views since August 5.

Taking to the comment box, the netizens shared their views.

"Cats are from a different planet," a user said. "I would not start recording, I would come out in defense of my cat," said a second person. "They have a faster reaction time than snakes. For them it can become a game," joined third. "When I moved to my new home there was a lot of bush around, my cat protected me from snake," added a fourth. "Days ago I defended one of my cats from a snake," recalled a fifth person. "There was an old Jacky Chan movie where he learns a killer kung Fu move from watching a cat killing a snake," wrote a sixth netizen.
