Coldplay kiss cam scandal:  Andrew Cabot, the husband of former Astronomer HR head Kristin Cabot, has issued a statement clarifying that the couple had already separated before she was caught on camera embracing ex-CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts. Through a spokesperson, Andrew Cabot, CEO of Privateer Rum, said the two were “privately and amicably separated” several weeks before the July incident that went viral. Kristin formally filed for divorce on August 13 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, court records confirm. “Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening,” the statement said. “Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.” The spokesperson further added that no further comment will be made.

Viral Kiss Cam Clip Sparked Speculation

The controversy erupted when Kristin, 52, and Byron, 50, were shown on the Gillette Stadium jumbotron during Coldplay’s concert. As cameras focused on them, the two were seen in an embrace before reacting in visible shock. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin quipped on stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” a remark that quickly went viral on social media. Following the incident, both Byron and Kristin resigned from Astronomer, a New York-based data management company. Byron had initially been placed on leave pending an internal investigation, while Kristin stepped down days later.

According to US media reports, the next hearing in the Cabot divorce case is scheduled for November 26 in New Hampshire’s 10th Circuit Court (Family Division). This marks Andrew Cabot’s third divorce. He has two children from a previous relationship.

The scandal also drew attention to Byron’s personal life, as he is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron and shares two children with her. Their marital status remains unclear. Meanwhile, Andrew’s former wife Julia Cabot told the Daily Mail that Andrew had informed her the separation was already in progress when the video surfaced. Despite the controversy, Andrew Cabot has maintained that the decision to part ways with Kristin was taken before the concert. He has urged privacy for his family amid heightened media attention.
