Donald Trump Attack: In its first reaction to the Donald Trump assassination attempt, Russia on Sunday linked the shooting to US President Joe Biden's administration. Kremlin said that even though it did not believe the current United States administration was behind the attack, it had created an atmosphere which provoked the attack.
Former US president Donald Trump survived an attempt on his life after he dodged a bullet fired by a young shooter at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. The bullet pierced Donald Trump's right upper ear and left him bleeding. A rally-goer was killed in the shooting while a few others sustained injuries. The attacker was later identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, a resident of Pennsylvania.
"We do not believe that the attempt to eliminate and assassinate Trump was organised by the current authorities," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters as quoted by Reuters.

"But the atmosphere around candidate Trump...provoked what America is confronting today," he added.
Kremlin also hit out at the Biden administration, alleging attempts to remove Trump from running for the presidential office. Notably, Donald Trump is expected to be announced as the Republican nominee for the presidential elections, slated for November 5, later this year.
"After numerous attempts to remove candidate Trump from the political arena - using first legal tools, the courts, prosecutors, attempts to politically discredit and compromise the candidate - it was obvious to all outside observers that his life was in danger," Peskov said.
However, Peskov said there were no immediate plans for Russian President Vladimir Putin to call Trump. Meanwhile, world leaders have denounced the attack on Trump. US President Joe Biden also condemned the attack, saying there was no place for that kind of violence in America.
