As the horrific terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 individuals unfolded, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel denounced the violence, offering full support to India in this time of need.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Patel referred to the attack and said, "The FBI sends our condolences to all the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir — and will continue offering our full support to the Indian government. This is a reminder of the constant threats our world faces from the evils of terrorism. Pray for those affected. Thank you to the men and women of law enforcement who answer the call in moments like these."

The Indian-origin head of the FBI also commended law enforcement officers for their quick response during the crisis and sent prayers for the affected families.

President Donald Trump Deplores Attack, Vows Support to PM Modi

Adding further weight to the US support, even former US President Donald Trump came out against the Pahalgam terror attack. Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 23, Trump sent his deepest sympathies and offered full support to bring the attackers to justice. "President Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump @POTUS spoke to PM @narendramodi and expressed his deepest condolences at the loss of innocent lives in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal tweeted. Trump, addressing journalists on Air Force One, called the attack "a bad one" and highlighted the historical complexities of Kashmir. “I am very close to India, and I’m very close to Pakistan. They’ve had that fight for a thousand years in Kashmir, and it was a bad one,” Trump stated.

The attack, which saw terrorists infiltrating tourist areas in Pahalgam on April 22, has triggered strong condemnation worldwide. Several international bodies and governments have expressed solidarity with India in its fight against terrorism. Patel’s statement reiterates that terrorism remains a grave challenge not only to India but to the global community at large. His assurance ofthe  FBI’s continued cooperation signals a deeper Indo-US partnership in combating terrorism.
The Pahalgam attack stands as a grim reminder of the persistent threats to peace and security, calling for collective international action to root out terrorism in all its forms.
