A 52-year-old Indian national was hospitalised after being allegedly assaulted by a group of transgender women in Thailand’s Pattaya city following a dispute over payment for sexual services, local media reports said.

The incident took place in the early hours of December 27 near the entrance of the popular Walking Street area, a well-known nightlife hub in Pattaya. Videos of the altercation have since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and mixed reactions online.

Incident Caught On Camera

According to reports by Thai news portal Thaiger, the injured tourist has been identified as Raj Jasuja. Footage circulating online shows several transgender women confronting the Indian man on a public road, allegedly demanding money for services rendered.

The situation escalated when Jasuja attempted to leave the spot in his car. One of the women reportedly blocked the vehicle, after which a group pulled him out. He was then seen being kicked and struck repeatedly before bystanders intervened and emergency services were alerted.

A 19-year-old local witness, identified as Pongpol Boonchid, told rescue workers that the altercation began as a verbal argument between Jasuja and a transgender sex worker near Walking Street. The disagreement soon turned physical, following which the woman allegedly called several acquaintances who joined the assault. The dispute is believed to have been triggered after the tourist allegedly refused to pay the full amount agreed upon for sexual services, the witness said.

They found the Indian national with visible injuries to his face and the back of his head. He was administered first aid before being shifted to Pattamakun Hospital for further treatment.

Thai police later said that a formal investigation would begin once the injured tourist recovers and files an official complaint. Authorities are currently reviewing witness statements and available CCTV footage from the area.

Local media reports indicate that Pattaya has witnessed several similar incidents involving foreign tourists and transgender sex workers in recent months. In September, an Indian man was allegedly assaulted after a dispute involving inappropriate conduct. Another incident in October reportedly involved three transgender women attacking two Indian nationals at a hotel and fleeing with cash and valuables.
