Iran War 2026: Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, in his first statement following Iran's acceptance of ceasefire with US, has instructed all the military units to stop firing for the next two weeks. In a statement read on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Khamenei clarified that the recent development is not the end of the war. Tehran has asserted that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened; however, it will intensify its retaliation if any further attack takes place.

"This is not the end of the war but all military branches should follow the Supreme Leader's order and cease their fire," Khamenei said. Apart from this, Iranian Supreme National Security Council asserted that slightest error from the US and Israel shall be met with full force. "It is emphasised that this does not signify the termination of the war... Our hands remain upon the trigger, and should the slightest error be committed by the enemy, it shall be met with full force," the ISNSC stated.

Earlier in a post on the Truth Social, US President Donald Trump stated that the two-week window will be utilised for the further talks. The US president further said that he has received the 10-points proposal by Tehran, adding that it was workable.

"The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning long-term peace with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East," the US president stated in his post.
