Delhi Blast News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a stern message, said on Tuesday that all those responsible for the car blast in Delhi will be brought to justice. PM Modi was speaking during his visit to Bhutan. The explosion near the historic Red Fort on Monday evening killed at least 12 people and injured 20.

PM Modi's stern message to Delhi blast conspirators

"...The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice," he said. "Today, I come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them today. I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice," added PM Modi.

What happened in Delhi blast?

The explosion, which took place near the historic Red Fort complex, killing 12 people and leaving several injured, and triggered panic in the area and led to a massive security response. Teams from the Special Cell, Crime Branch, and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were deployed, while the area was sealed and visitors evacuated.

There is no official word yet on what caused the blast.

The Delhi Police on Monday night said nine people were killed in the blast and several others sustained injuries. The death toll has gone up to 12 with three people succumbing to their injuries 

Security stepped up in Delhi

Security has been stepped up across Delhi, particularly around heritage sites, metro stations, and market areas. Sniffer dogs and bomb disposal teams conducted multiple checks in and around the Red Fort precinct. Traffic on Netaji Subhash Marg and nearby roads was diverted for several hours as a precautionary measure.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Explosive Substances Act.
