Israel has been carrying out ardent missile strikes in Tehran amid escalating tensions between the two countries. The IDF on Monday hit the building of Iran's state-run TV channel IRIB, abruptly stopping a live broadcast midway.

This happened when female anchor Sahar Emami was reading the news on live TV.

The video in this context is getting fervently viral across social media platforms. As soon as the attack took place, the studio was filled with smoke and debris.

Despite this, Sahar came back and resumed reading the news from a different studio. Netizens are hailing Sahar for her spirit. She has also received praise from Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

“This is the voice of Iran,” Khamenei’s official X handle posted with Sahar’s photo depicting Iran flag in the background.

Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, Zahra Bahramzadeh Azar, also praised Sahar for her courage.

Who Is Sahar Emami

Sahar Emami is an anchor of the Iranian state broadcasting organisation IRIB. Born in 1985 in Tehran, Emami holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering. She entered the field of media in the year 2010 and soon made her mark in Iran's official news channel to become a known face in Iranian journalism. She reads news in Arabic and wears a hijab while on air.

Although Emami did food engineering, she chose the media field as her profession. Over the years, she hosted many shows, including “Back Home” and “Morning with the News”. Her program “Newsstand” made her a household name.

Emami is married and is a mother to a child.
