US First Lady Melania Trump has put out an artificial intelligence-narrated audiobook edition of her memoir, Melania, utilizing a digitally restored version of her voice. The AI-powered narration marks a first-of-its-kind approach by any US First Lady, what Melania calls a “new era in publishing.” The audiobook, which is only available on her official website for 25 USD, was created in partnership with New York audio tech company ElevenLabs. It is multilingual, with options in Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi, with more languages expected to be released by late 2025. “My story. My perspective. The truth,” says Melania’s AI voice in a promotional video posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Let the future of publishing begin,” she added in her caption.

First Lady Confronts Personal History

The memoir, originally published in October 2024, provides candid details of Melania Trump's lifegrowing up in Cold War Yugoslavia (today Slovenia) to her days as First Lady during the Trump administration. The seven-hour audiobook looks back at the most important personal and political episodes, told in an AI voice under her direct guidance. The move is made as Melania welcomes the use of AI while expressing worry over its abuse, specifically in the case of deepfake pornography, which she has denounced in public.

Top 5 Revelations From First Lady:

1. Trump's Initial Attempt Rejected

Melania remembers meeting Donald Trump for the first time in 1988 in a New York nightclub. In contrast to popular assumption, she refused to give him her phone number but accepted his. The two had their first date at his Seven Springs estate. "There was a magnetic energy about him," she writes.

2. Barron Trump and the Autism Rumors

She is deeply upset about public rumors about the health of her son Barron, particularly a viral comedian, Rosie O'Donnell, implying he is autistic. “This cruelty inspired my Be Best anti-bullying initiative,” Melania notes.

3. Soft Echoes of Election Denial

While less overt than her spouse, Melania Trump also doubts the validity of the 2020 US Presidential Election, citing the protracted vote count as a result of using mail-in ballots. She attributes her silence when attending the Capitol riots to being uninformed of the events at the time.

4. Assassination Attempt Caught on TV

Melania recounts the terror of watching an attempted assassination of Donald Trump at a rally—live on TV in New Jersey. Her primary concern, she states, was their son, who also saw the footage.

5. A Republican Maverick: Pro-Choice Opinion

In a daring break from standard Republican speak, Melania is pro-choice. "Women need to have control over decisions regarding their bodies," she says.
The declaration, while provocative to traditionalist quarters, was defended vocally by Donald Trump, who stated his wife must have the right to have her say.

The application of AI in Melania not only represents technological advancement but also poses the question regarding changing autobiographical storytelling in the modern era.
