X, Twitter Outage: Thousands of X users faced disruption while using the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, on Friday night. X was down for tens of thousands of users in several countries. It was the second major outage of X in three days. X's integrated AI chatbot Grok also faced outage for hours.

According to the outage tracking site, Downdetector.com, there were more than 62,000 reports of issues with the
social media platform, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, at 10:22 a.m. ET in the United States.

The Downdetector detected that users in the UK reported around 11,000 incidents, and over 3,000 issues were reported in India.

Thousands Of Users Affected In India

Thousand of microblogging platform users in India faced a major technical snag after its services was down for hours. In India, users in major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, reported difficulties in refreshing their feeds and posting new updates.

According to outage tracking website Downdetector, reports of the platform being inaccessible began spiking around 8:40 pm IST, with users across various geographies reporting issues with both the mobile application and the website.

Earlier on January 13, more than 22,900 reports were issued about the outage of X in the US as 9.19 am ET. According to Downdetector, X was also down for more than 7,000 users in the UK as of 9:20 a.m. ET, and for more than 2,700 users in Canada.
