BYD Seal Electric Sedan: Chinese EV manufacturer BYD (Build Your Dream) is gearing up to launch its third electric vehicle in India. The upcoming BYD Seal electric sedan is set to be launched in India on March 5. BYD currently sells two electric models in the country - Atto 3 electric SUV and e6 electric MPV. The BYD Seal electric sedan was initially unveiled at the Auto Expo in January 2023.
The BYD Seal is available in global markets and competes with the Tesla Model 3. It is built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 and takes design cues from the Ocean X concept. The Seal EV boasts an aerodynamic body, promising a low drag coefficient of just 0.21 cd.

BYD Seal - Design & Interior
Talking about the exterior design of the BYD Seal, it features crystal LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, along with full-width LED taillights that span the entire length of the boot-lid. Moving inside the electric sedan, the interior of the Seal gives off a premium vibe. The dashboard features a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, akin to the one found in the Atto 3. Additionally, it features a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a head-up display, two wireless charging pads, a panoramic sunroof and other standard features.
BYD Seal - Battery, Range & Performance
The BYD Seal features the company's Blade battery technology and is available with two battery pack options. The smaller 61.4 kWh battery provides a range of 550 kilometers on a single charge, while the larger 82.5 kWh battery offers a range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge. Fast charging capability is up to 150 kW with the larger pack and up to 110 kW with the smaller pack. The Seal EV will be offered with both single PMS and dual-motor options. In India, the dual-motor version will be offered that is capable of delivering a combined power output of 523 bhp. Moreover, BYD claims that the Seal can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds.

BYD Seal - Expected Price
Post its launch on March 5, the BYD Seal will compete with other premium electric models such as the Kia EV6 and BMW i4 in India. Therefore, in terms of pricing, it is expected to be priced between Rs 65 lakh to Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom).
