Kia Carens MPV: South Korean automaker Kia has updated its Carens MPV with new variants and features, making it more appealing to customers. Now, there are 30 different variants of the Carens to choose from. These updates have significantly upgraded the Carens MPV in Kia India’s lineup, which comprises the popular Seltos and Sonet SUVs. These updates include visual as well as mechanical updates.

Kia Carens - Mechanical Updates

In terms of mechanical updates, the Kia Carens is now available with three engine choices - a naturally aspirated petrol engine, a turbocharged petrol engine and a diesel engine. Previously, the Kia Carens was available with a diesel engine that was later discontinued. However, Kia has brought back the diesel engine that is mated to a six speed manual transmission as standard. Other transmission options include a six-speed manual unit, a six-speed iMT, a seven-speed DCT, and a six-speed torque-converter (TC) automatic gearbox.

Kia Carens - Design Updates 

In terms of exterior appearance, Kia Carens will now be offered in a new Pewter Olive colour that is offered with other Kia SUVs in India. After the introduction of this new colour, Kia Carens is now offered in eight monotone and three dual-tone options, expanding its total colour choices.

Kia Carens - New Variants 

Talking about the new variants, Kia Carens has received two new variants in its lineup - Prestige (O) and Prestige+ (O). The Prestige (O) variant is available in six or seven-seater layouts and is loaded with features like LED DRL, positioning lamp, LED rear combination lamp, smart key with push-button start, a leather-wrapped gear knob, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, keyless entry, burglar alarm and more. The Prestige+ (O) variant is available with new transmission options such as seven-speed DCT and six-speed AT options. In terms of features, it boasts an LED map lamp, a room lamp, and a sunroof among other features. Moreover, the tops-spec X-Line variant is now available in a seven-seater configuration, boasting features like a dashcam and voice-controlled windows. These updates make the Carens a versatile and feature-rich choice in the MPV segment.
