Kia Clavis Spotted Testing On Indian Roads With Panoramic Sunroof, May Get ADAS; What We Know About Upcoming SUV

Kia Clavis Spotted Testing: South Korean automaker Kia has been testing its new compact SUV in India. This new upcoming Kia subcompact SUV will be called Clavis. The Kia Clavis will be positioned between the Sonet and Seltos SUV models in Kia’s India lineup. As the subcompact SUV has been spotted testing, recent spy images from Hyderabad have revealed key features and design elements of the upcoming SUV.

Kia Clavis - Exterior 

The new spy shots confirm the SUV's boxy and upright design while revealing exterior features like a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, all-LED lighting with vertically-positioned LED DRLs, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. 

Kia Clavis - Interior 

In terms of interior, the Kia Clavis SUV is expected to have a Seltos-like digital instrument display merging with a large 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Top variants might be equipped with ventilated and powered front seats, drive modes, climate control, leatherette upholstery and a Bose audio system.

Kia Clavis - Safety Features 

In the spy images, the wheels can be seen pushed to the corners and also hint at various safety features. The front radar module suggests the inclusion of ADAS technology and front parking sensors. The Kia Clavis is likely to be equipped with additional safety features such as six airbags, ABS, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring and rear disc brakes.

Kia Clavis - Powertrain

In terms of powertrain, it is being speculated that the Kia Clavis will be offered in both ICE and EV variants. The EV variant is expected to be launched six months after the launch of its ICE counterpart. Both variants are anticipated to share the same platform and may later get a hybrid variant.

Kia Clavis - Launch and Price 

The ICE variant of the Clavis is anticipated to debut later this year and go on sale early next year, while the EV variant is slated for a mid-2025 launch. Talking about its price, the Kia Clavis is expected to be competitively priced due to localisation efforts and its size, likely costing slightly more than the Kia Sonet that is available at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
