Mahindra XEV 9S Launch Tomorrow: Here's What You Should Know About Upcoming 7-Seater EV

Mahindra XEV 9S Launch: Mahindra's first-ever 7-seat electric SUV for India, the XEV 9S, is scheduled to launch in India tomorrow, November 27, 2025. Designed from the ground up to offer maximum space and flexibility, the XEV 9S features the brand's INGLO skateboard architecture that also underpins the XEV 9e and the BE 6. Mahindra has been teasing its upcoming XEV 9S since early November, but concrete details will be revealed at the brand's Scream Electric event. From the teasers shared so far, here's what's confirmed and what to expect:

Mahindra XEV 9S: Design

Based on the first-ever spy video and the official teasers, the 7-seat Mahindra XEV 9S will arrive as a mixed bag. The vertically stacked headlamps with Y-shaped DRLs up front will mark it out as the XEV 9e, even though the rear fascia appears to follow the XUV700's design language. The 7-seat SUV will also get flush-type door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels, and the brand's 'butterfly’ emblem.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Features

Confirmed feature bits include a triple-screen layout, rear-seat entertainment screens, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver's seat, a sliding second row, a Harman Kardon sound system, a 'Boss' mode, multi-colour ambient lighting, and an electronic parking brake.

Convenience and safety features, such as tri-zone climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, Dolby Atmos, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a Level 2 ADAS suite, are expected to be offered.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Battery Specs

Expect the XEV 9S to come with the same battery options as the other two electric SUVs: 59kWh and 79kWh, rated for 656km and 542km, respectively. Both are MIDC figures. While the XEV 9e and the BE 6 use a rear-wheel-drive setup, an all-wheel-drive powertrain setup is likely to be added to the XEV 9S lineup at a later stage.
