MG Hector Blackstorm Edition Launch In India Tomorrow; What To Expect

MG Motor is set to unveil a new edition of its popular Hector SUV, called the Hector Blackstorm. The carmaker teased this special edition ahead of its launch scheduled for April 10. This launch marks MG's first introduction for the new financial year. The MG Hector competes with models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Tata Harrier.

The Hector Blackstorm joins MG Motor's lineup as the third all-black edition SUV in India, following the Blackstorm editions of the Gloster and Astor SUVs. This edition brings various cosmetic changes, including an all-black exterior color theme, red accents, Blackstorm badging, updated cabin upholstery, and more.

MG Hector Blackstorm - Exterior 

A teaser image released by MG Motor showcases the distinct features of the Hector Blackstorm. The SUV boasts a blacked-out grille and Starry Black exterior color. While retaining chrome accents on the front lip and window sill, it adds red accents to the headlight casing and ORVMs, along with red brake calipers on the alloy wheels. Other enhancements include Black Edition badging, black tail lights, glossy black door garnish and black finish roof rails.

MG Hector Blackstorm - Interior 

Moving inside, the Hector Blackstorm is expected to maintain a similar layout to the standard model but with cosmetic updates like an all-black interior theme, new Tuxedo Black upholstery with red stitches, Sangria Red-themed AC vents, a black floor console, and red stitches on the steering wheel and door trims. The features will stay the same as the standard Hector SUV.

MG Hector Blackstorm - Engine Specs 

In terms of powertrain, the Hector Blackstorm edition is anticipated to retain the existing engine options. It will be powered by either a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and CVT gearbox options or a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with a manual gearbox.
