Bihar Assembly Election 2025 Date: With only a few days to the first phase of the highly anticipated election of the year, the political landscape in Bihar is all charged up. The state with one of the highest assembly seats in the country will vote in two phases and is anticipated to welcome a new government later this month.
With 121 seats going to the polls in the first phase, Bihar will vote for the first phase on November 6, and the second phase of voting will take place on November 11, when the remaining constituencies will vote to elect their representatives.
The counting of votes for the 243 seats will take place on November 14, and the results will be announced as soon as the counting is complete. The Election Commission of India has released the full schedule of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections 2025. As the state gears up for a new government with the tenure of the current government ending on November 22, ECI has announced security and voter count details besides the poll schedule.

Bihar Vidhan Sabha Election 2025: Contestants, Voters And Booth
A total of 2,616 candidates will contest across both phases. With only 818 voters at a polling booth, a total of 90,712 polling booths will be there across the state. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said, "The final voter's list after SIR has been given to all political parties. Post the date of nomination filing, the Voters' list, which is to be released, will be final."
According to the final electoral roll, there are a total of 7.24 crore voters in Bihar, comprising 3.92 crore male and 3.32 crore female voters.
Bihar Election 2025: Smartphone Rules
There will be webcasting at all the polling stations in the Bihar polls, with 243 observers overseeing the process at each constituency, one observer at each constituency.
The ECI also announced that voters will have to deposit their smartphones outside the polling room.
Bihar Vidhan Sabha Election 2025: Polling Hours
Voting will take place from 7 am to 5 pm, with one extra hour for voters already in the queue.
Bihar Assembly Election 2025 Will Take Place Under Tight Security
Over 500 companies from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be stationed for the elections. This deployment comprises 121 companies of the CRPF, roughly 400 from the BSF, and additional units from the ITBP, CISF, and SSB. Of these, 99 BSF companies have already arrived in Bihar, while the remaining forces are en route to the state prior to voting.
