A gang of six men on two bikes went on an attacking spree in Chennai, injuring a total of 6 people in separate incidents. The accused were allegedly drunk, and the police have not found any connection between the victims.
According to a report by The New Indian Express, the attackers broke into a house at Rajmangalam and attacked two residents, including a woman, on Saturday. Minutes later, they attacked four other men at Koyambedu.
The police said that the incident took place at around 10:00 PM when six men on two bikes attacked a woman named Chandra (52). Chandra was locking her house when she was attacked.
The attackers then barged into the home and attacked Chandra's son Rajesh while he was watching TV.
During the attack, Rajesh sustained deep cuts on his head, and both victims started screaming, prompting the neighbours to rush for help.

The same group then attacked four men near Koyambedu minutes later. Two among those victims sustained severe head injuries. The victims have been identified as Karthik, Tamilselvan, Manojkiran and Vishal.
The police have not found any connection among the victims, and the accused remain unidentified. The motive behind the attacks, hence, remains unclear at present.

Based on the preliminary inquiries, the police said that the gang might have been under the influence of alcohol and entered Chandra's house looking for someone else.
As they couldn't find him, they attacked the mother and son instead. The report quoted a senior police official as saying, "There is no clear motive as of now and there seems to be no connection among the victims. We are analysing CCTV footage from both the localities to trace the gang".
