Bihar Hit-And-Run: A woman constable was killed and two other police officials got severly injured in Patna after being hit by an overspeeding car in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.  The police stated that the incident took place near Punaichak on Atal Path where the officials were checking the vehicles. It further stated that the vehicle was coming from Digha and the driver accelerated the vehicle when asked to stop for the checking, leading to injuries to the sub-inspector, assistant sub-inspector, and a woman constable. The police officials further stated that the injured officials were rushed to the nearest hospital.

While providing details, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Awkash Kumar stated that the incident happened when the officers were checking vehicles on the Atal Path, adding that the driver of the car managed to flee from the spot.

"Three security personnel posted with the Srikrishna Puri police station were checking vehicles on the Atal Path, when the incident happened. While they were checking a car, another speeding car hit it from the rear end, resulting in injuries to the three personnel. The driver of the speeding car managed to flee immediately after the accident," Kumar was quoted as saying by PTI.

Kumar further stated that the injured officers were admitted to a local hospital where they are receiving the treatment. He further stated that two passengers travelling in the car were immediately arrested and the search for the absconding driver is ongoing. The locals stated that the collision was so strong that the female police officer jumped and fell on the divider, leading to serious injuries, reported Jagran.Com.

Apart from this, the locals further stated that SI Deepak Kumar and ASI Awadhesh Kumar fell on the roadside after the collision. They further informed that while the driver of the car responsible for the incident fled the scene, two other passengers got injured and were later arrested by the police.
