Patna Metro: The Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) on Sunday stated that the residents of Patna will soon be able to utilise the metro services as the preparations are in the last stage. While providing details, the authority stated that the first phase of the metro will operate between the New ISBT Metro Station and Bhootnath Road. The officials stated that the operation of the metro will provide convenience to hundreds of commuters by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion. The total cost of Patna Metro is Rs 13,925 crore, with contributions from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Central Government, and the Bihar Government.
Patna Metro: PMRC provides details
- The trains will operate between 8 am and 10 pm for 14 hours.
- Metro will be available at every station at an interval of every 20 minutes.
- Trains will make 40 to 42 trips daily.
- The fare from New ISBT to Zero Mile will be Rs 15
- The fare between New ISBT and Bhootnath Road will be Rs 30.
- 147 passengers will be able to travel sitting and 945 passengers standing.
- 12 seats will be reserved for women and disabled people in each train.
- There will be mobile and laptop charging facilities in the metro coaches.
- Patna Metro's two corridors, Red Line (16.86 km) and Blue Line (14.56 km), will have a total of 24 stations.
- The full operation of the first phase is likely to begin by 2027.
- Automated ticket counters, digital information boards, and public address system.

- Special arrangements for the disabled and senior citizens.

Earlier last month, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated that the metro services will also be extended to the nearby cities in the upcoming years. He also assured that the government will announce multiple projects to boost the regional connectivity.
