India is set to get major relief from September 22 as the prices of products and services are going to be reduced, thanks to GST reforms. In line with that, Hindustan Unilever Limited, the FMCG major, has announced a price drop across its range of products, including Kissan Jam, Horlicks, Dove and Lux soaps, among others.

In a news advertisement, the company has announced to reduce the retail price of a 40-ml Dove shampoo bottle to Rs 435 against earlier Rs 490.

The price of a Horlicks jar (200 grams) has been reduced by Rs 20, while that of Kissan jam has been cut by Rs 10. HUL said that the fresh stock with either the revised maximum retail price (MRP) or higher weightage is currently being dispatched to markets.

The price reduction comes after the Central government announced to reduce two GST slabs of 12 per cent and 28 per cent. The goods and services under 12 per cent slab would be accomodated in 5 per cent slab, while those under 28 per cent would be added into 18 per cent slab.
