Sudha Murty, who is not just the wife of Infosys founder Narayan Murthy, and mother-in-law to UK PM Rishi Sunak but is also an accomplished author and philanthropist recently shocked everyone when she said that that it is very difficult to deal with a more successful man. But that’s not all what she said, there is more to it.
Speaking at the Moneycontrol Startup Conclave 2023 on Friday, Sudha Murty said: "I just want to tell all young entrepreneurs...it's very difficult to live with the most successful man. They are not normal, they are eccentric, they don't have logic at home, only in the office..."
“They expect you to be their wife, secretary, finance manager, nanny, adviser and many more roles. A woman has to do all those. And any one of them you fail that affects them bad" she added.
In this conclave, the billionaire Narayan Murthy and his son Rohan Murthy talked about India's start-up ecosystem. In a video shared by the media outlet, Narayan Murthy appreciated his wife, for being his lifelong support.
Following this Sudha Murthy took the stage and expressed her views on women who stand by their partners as strong support, while the latter chase their dreams.
In her speech, Murty said, "And a woman has to be stronger than a man. He (Murthy) may be very strong in his company but I am double of that. Every entrepreneur’s wife, I feel, she is more gifted, more hard working than their husband, a better manager, an excellent CEO and a great companion. And they believe their husband’s words. Most of them are impractical but accepting..."
Murty’s speech received a thundering round of applause from the audience present at the conclave.
According to Forbes, N.R. Narayana Murthy, Infosys cofounder and retired chairman of the tech giant has a net worth of $4.2 Billion as of July 9, 2023.
