The BCCI is all set to remove team India's batting and fielding coaches Abhishek Nayar and T Dilip after India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia earlier this year. It should be noted here that India lost the five-match Test series against Australia by 3-1.
As per a report by Dainik Jagran, post the series defeat and before the five-match Test series against England, the BCCI would be relieving Nayar and Dilip of their services. Apart from them, team India's strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai would also be sacked. There are high chances that they won't be going to England for the five-match Test series, which will be held in June.
Nayar became Team India's batting coach just eight months ago, whereas Dilip has been part of the Indian team management since 2021. The coaching staff of the Indian team underwent some changes after Gautam Gambhir had become the head coach. Besides him, Gambhir also brought a huge coaching staff with him, which includes Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate, and Morne Morkel.
But the board then decided to include the NCA and India A coach Sitanshu Kotak as the batting coach for the ODIs and T20Is after the Men in Blue were seen during the home Test series against New Zealand and then in Australia. Now Ryan ten Doeschate would be serving as the fielding coach whereas South African trainer Adrian Le Roux will be the Men in Blue's strength and conditioning coach. He is currently the part of Punjab Kings during the ongoing season of IPL.
The Indian team does have a hectic schedule post-IPL as they will be playing a five-match Test series against England and will then lock horns with Bangladesh for a six-white-ball match series later this year.
